Jesse Marsch has told BBC Radio Leeds that his goal for his time at Leeds United is to win trophies, admitting that speaking about the desire for silverware is something of a taboo in Germany.
Marsch has made a bright start to life at Elland Road. He has won two of his opening five games in the Premier League. And with that, they now sit eight points clear of the bottom three.

The situation remains precarious with all of the sides below having at least one game in hand over Leeds. And their next game sees them face Watford, who sit 18th.
Victory in that game will take Leeds to the brink of safety. But defeat would leave the Whites right back in the battle.
Interestingly, Marsch is still allowing himself to look further ahead and beyond this season. For many, consolidation in the Premier League would be an achievement over the next few years.

But Marsch has set his sights slightly higher for what he wants at Leeds.
“What does success mean? I don’t do this without the end goal in mind and I don’t mind saying this, you want to win trophies,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“This was a big thing in Germany, you’re not supposed to say that, because you’re only setting yourself for failure but this job is about dreaming big.”
Jury still out on Jesse Marsch at Leeds
Marsch will be lauded if he ensures that Leeds remain in the Premier League. It will be a tremendous achievement given the situation they were in when he arrived and the fact that he was taking over from one of the most popular head coaches in the club’s history.
But it still seems too soon to judge whether Marsch will be a success at Leeds and challenge for trophies in the future.
The players are clearly enjoying their football under him. And the comeback against Wolves was a massive performance. That has changed the entire perception of his tenure so far.
But it is also fair to say that Marsch’s job is not to instil all of his ideas immediately. He simply needs to focus on keeping Leeds in the Premier League for now.
And with that, it would be unfair to judge him too strongly for some time yet.
