Arsenal and Tammy Abraham would be a “perfect fit”, according to talkSPORT pundit Jermaine Pennant.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are frontrunners to land the 23-year-old Chelsea striker.

Arsenal are apparently in the race to sign Abraham along with Spurs and West Ham.

But the above report claims the Emirates Stadium outfit is now in pole position for a loan-to-buy deal.

Arsenal would reportedly be looking at signing Abraham on an initial loan deal with a £40million obligation to buy.

However, the outlet also suggests the obligation to buy would be triggered if the player reaches a pre-set amount of appearances.

“Arsenal need”?

“That would be a good move,” former Highbury winger Pennant said on talkSPORT (21/7/21, 9:30am).

“Tuchel is not a fan of him. I’ve heard people talk about being patient and fighting for your place but it’s difficult.

“If a manager is not interested, you have to move on. A team like Arsenal, he wouldn’t have to go far for his family. It’s a perfect move.

“He’s something Arsenal need. He’s English, he’s young, the price is always a little bit more anyway for English pedigree

“I think it’s a good signing. Arsenal would be a perfect fit.”

Abraham has come through the ranks at Chelsea and has made 82 competitive appearances for the Blues.

He has registered 30 goals and 12 assists, and lifted the Champions League last season.
