Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport (broadcast on 4/10; 22:11) that Rodrigo Bentancur was very good for Tottenham Hotspur against Eintracht Frankfurt, while the pundit shared how the midfielder managed to surprise him in the stalemate.
It was a night of mixed emotions for Spurs in Germany. Antonio Conte’s men were much better than they were at the weekend in their North London derby loss.

However, they were unable to beat the Europa League champions. And thus, they remain amongst the pack in their Champions League group. But there were positives.
Bentancur was very good
Tottenham created the chances to potentially win the game. And there were some impressive performances across the pitch. Glenn Hoddle told BT that Clement Lenglet probably had his best game for Spurs.

And Bentancur was another who caught the eye, with Jenas even suggesting that one aspect of his game caught him off-guard.
“I thought him and Hojbjerg were very good but I thought Bentancur just edged it in the midfield area,” he told BT Sport.
“He showed a burst of pace we didn’t know he had as well by the way, when he drove forward with the ball. But he’s got real quality, it was a good performance from them both.”
Bentancur provided a glimpse of that ability to break out at the weekend. In the latter stages when Spurs had little hope left, it often appeared to be the Uruguayan who showed more intent than most to drive the team up the pitch.
He has been an inspired signing since arriving in January. It is easy to forget now that there was little fanfare when he made the last minute move in January.
He has formed a very good partnership with Hojbjerg. And his consistency since his move to Tottenham has been incredibly impressive.
