Southampton completed the signing of Adam Armstrong on Tuesday from Blackburn Rovers – and some West Ham fans on Twitter were left gutted they missed out on a deal for him.
Southampton confirmed today that the 24-year-old has moved to St Mary’s on a four-year deal. It’s a transfer worth £15million.
Armstrong’s earned his move to the Premier League after scoring 29 goals in 43 games across all competitions last season for Championship side Blackburn.
He’s a prolific centre-forward with great pace and energy, so he looks like a direct replacement for Danny Ings following his move to Aston Villa.
Armstrong played 15 games in the Premier League earlier on his career at Newcastle United, but he’s now going to get a chance at Southampton to be an important first teamer.

West Ham fans claim Adam Armstrong is a big missed opportunity
A selection of West Ham supporters on social media believe that Southampton’s new man could’ve been perfect for them.
It’s extremely frustrating for them because Armstrong has been linked with the Irons recently. The Sun reported back in June that West Ham, Southampton and Norwich were all battling it out for the striker’s signature.
As it stands, Michail Antonio is the only senior striker that West Ham manager David Moyes has to use in the upcoming season. It looks a major concern because they’ve got domestic and European fixtures to balance.
