Liverpool are yet to make a single signing during this summer transfer window as the Reds struggle to get deals over the line.
Martin Zubimendi has just rejected a move to Liverpool, while there have been other transfer rumours this summer that haven’t quite panned out.
Anthony Gordon is one player who has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield, and speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Jamie Carragher has been discussing the idea of Gordon moving to Liverpool.
Carragher said that he’d be very interested in doing this deal if it was still possible before the transfer deadline.

Jamie Carragher would want Anthony Gordon at Liverpool
The pundit spoke about the £40m Newcastle star potentially coming to Anfield
“The Anthony Gordon – Gomez one. I think that was out of our hands and that was more of a Newcastle transfer in terms of PSR,” Carragher said.
“That is a transfer I would’ve liked to have seen go through. If there is still something in that between now and the end of the window, that is something I would be really interested in us doing.
“Whether that’s Anthony Gordon or Joe Gomez being involved. Joe is probably at the stage where he wants first-team football, and I’m not sure he will get that now.”
Anthony Gordon move shouldn’t be a priority
Anthony Gordon would be a great addition for Liverpool, but he shouldn’t be the Reds’ top priority signing at this point.
Indeed, Liverpool already have a litany of great attacking talent, but there are other areas in which they are short.
The Reds need a new holding midfield player, while they could also do with some more depth at centre-back too.
Gordon would be a luxury signing, and while he is a fantastic player, it’s hard to argue that he’s necessarily what the Reds need right now.
Liverpool’s first signing of the summer should be in a more pressing position.
