Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher thinks FSG will not let Mohamed Salah leave the club at the end of this season.
The saga surrounding the Egyptian’s contract is heating up at the moment. Salah has entered the final 18 months of his deal and reports have revealed that he has rejected a new contract.
That has raised doubts over his future, not just at the end of his deal, but at the end of this season as well.
However, Carragher cannot imagine that FSG and Jurgen Klopp will sell Salah in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Jamie Carragher: Liverpool will not sell Mo Salah this summer
Speaking on the Monday Night debate on Sky Sports last night, Carragher said: “Not at the end of the season. He may leave at the end of his contract. Not at the end of the season. No, I wouldn’t [sell him]. I don’t think they (FSG) would. Hopefully, they can get another 12 months out of him and change his mind and convince him to sign that contract.
“I think he will sign that contract, I’m not overly worried about the situation because of the situation at all these other clubs and the players they will sign. I think they will look at Haaland and Mbappe and younger players than Salah.
“And Salah has played his best football here, that’s what obviously Mo Salah has still got to remember, is that he’s been brilliant for Liverpool but Liverpool have been brilliant for him and players have left Liverpool in recent years, look at Wijnaldum now and he’s on the bench.
“Now I’m not saying that would happen to Mo Salah, but I don’t think the Mo Salah we’ve seen at Liverpool would be the same anywhere else.”

TBR View:
The standoff in the negotiation between Liverpool and Salah was expected.
The Egyptian is arguably the best player in the world at the moment and he is well within his right to demand a massive salary. However, Liverpool have always been reluctant to break their wage structure and it’s no surprise that they haven’t agreed to do that yet.
The next few months will be crucial for Liverpool but Carragher is right, it makes no sense for them to sell him.
Liverpool would be better off keeping hold of Salah until the end of his contract and if they cannot convince him to sign a new deal, he can then walk away for nothing.
