Liverpool will field a new-look side when they line up to face Bournemouth in the Premier League opener on Friday.
The Reds have proven they mean business in the summer transfer window with a near £300 million outlay sanctioned to build a new star-studded squad for Arne Slot.
Richard Hughes is expected to continue his summer spending spree up until the 1 September deadline, as TBR Football understands Giovanni Leoni will sign a six-year deal at Anfield upon the completion of a medical after a £30 million fee was agreed with Parma.
Furthermore, Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak are firmly on the Reds’ radar as the club continues to capitalise on their recent Premier League success.

And now, Jamie Carragher has made the bold claim that he would have paid £20 million more for one of Liverpool’s summer additions after being impressed by what he has seen thus far.
Jamie Carragher would have paid more for Florian Wirtz
Carragher discussed Liverpool’s signing of Florian Wirtz with co-host Gary Neville on The Overlap, claiming he would have been happy if the Reds paid £20 million more for the “fantastic” midfielder.
Neville asked: “Roy, you made a point though, Carra. Is it about the money with you? Do you not like the idea of Liverpool looking like they’re splashing the cash?”
Carragher responded: “Not at all. I’d have paid another £20 million for Wirtz. I think, ‘Wow, what a signing.’ He’s 22, in that position, and he’s a fantastic player. It’s not about the money at all.”
Wirtz arrived at the Reds with a glowing reputation as one of, if not the, best attacking midfielders in world football, emphasised further by the German international’s Ballon d’Or nomination.
The 22-year-old has not shied away from the growing expectation at Anfield. He will wear the number 7 this season, sported historically by legends Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Callaghan and Kevin Keegan, following the departure of Luis Diaz.
Slot has backed Wirtz to handle the pressure as his club-record acquisition from Bayer Leverkusen – potentially rising to a British record fee – will attract eager eyes to see whether he immediately hits the ground running in English football.
Florian Wirtz is making an instant impact at Liverpool
Liverpool supporters couldn’t believe their eyes as Wirtz starred alongside Hugo Ekitike in the loss against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.
Despite the disappointing defeat on penalties, Wirtz is already demonstrating what he can bring to Anfield this season, and the supporters are in awe of his ability on the pitch.
The Reds have not boasted a talisman in central midfield since Philippe Coutinho, with Jurgen Klopp relying on the creativity of the wingers to feed the attack following his club-record departure to Barcelona in 2018.

Nevertheless, Wirtz has all the tools to be the heartbeat of the Liverpool attack and fill the creative void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Dominik Szoboszlai will also face a fight for a starting berth in the number 8 role with Alexis Mac Allister – a welcome problem for Slot this season.
