James McFadden amazed by Celtic 26-year-old after Wednesday victory
James McFadden was left blown away by Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi for a moment he produced last night against AZ Alkmaar.
Hoops forward Furuhashi scored a fabulous opening goal on Wednesday night in a 2-0 victory.
The Scottish giants picked up a vital win over Dutch opposition AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their Europa League play-off qualifier. It means there is more work to do next week in the return tie, but they have the upper hand.
Furuhashi has started his Celtic career on fire since his summer transfer and delivered another big moment in midweek.
The 26-year-old forward put his side ahead at Parkhead due to his amazing volley. He managed to peel off the back of the defender in the box and stretch out to get on the end of Tom Rogic’s cross.
BBC pundit McFadden particularly liked the way the Japan international moved in the penalty area for his goal.
“It’s a sensational goal. Furuhashi’s movement is unbelievable. He times his run perfectly and it’s not an easy finish,” McFadden said after the Celtic star’s goal.
Kyogo Furuhashi shows more quality with latest Celtic goal
It’s been a rollercoaster start to life in Scotland for Furuhashi, who’s already vital for Celtic manager Postecoglou.
The energetic attacker now has six goals in six appearances for the club, including two in the European games. He already looks a complete natural in the Bhoys XI.
It’s clear that he’s got the kind of instincts in the final third that means he will score goals because he’s often one step ahead.
