James Maddison has expressed a bit of surprise at what Tottenham have posted about him on Instagram.
The 27-year-old responded in the comments section after Spurs uploaded a clip from Saturday’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.
So, how did James Maddison react to what Tottenham posted? Let’s take a look…
How James Maddison responded to Tottenham post
Well – as every club does nowadays – Tottenham uploaded a series of short highlights from the victory over Crystal Palace on social media.
One of these clips showed Maddison nutmegging Adam Wharton, although the Spurs No.10 was immediately dispossessed by the Crystal Palace No.20 – who recovered well.
In response to Tottenham’s upload, the England international wrote: “That the best clip you could find? 😂😂😂 I mean it’s a foul but Jesus not exactly highlight reel material 🤣”.

Clearly, Maddison is a bit surprised Spurs opted to select that video for a highlight, as it was nothing special.
There were many other parts of his performance which could have been clipped up for social media, so it was a bit of a strange post from Tottenham.
How James Maddison performed against Crystal Palace
Well, Crystal Palace simply could not handle Maddison on Saturday.
As WhoScored shows, the £40m man won five freekicks from the south Londoners – more than any other player on the pitch.
Maddison also made three successful tackles – no Spurs player completed more – while he also recorded two key passes and two dribbles.

Timo Werner even admitted that he loves playing with the attacking midfielder.
It was a composed performance from the Coventry-born maestro, who has made a huge difference since returning from injury ahead of January’s 3-2 win over Brentford.
Tottenham have won three and drawn one of their five games since Maddison returned, with the north Londoners currently sitting five points off fourth with a game in hand.
Hopefully, the playmaker can stay out of the treatment room, and fire Spurs back into the UEFA Champions League this season.
