'People tried to talk': James Maddison says one Spurs star has shown his 'class' at Euro 2020
Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison, believes that Spurs star Harry Kane showed he is ‘the best in world football’ with his Ukraine performance.
Kane hit a superb double and very nearly had a hat-trick. A superb volley was tipped around the post by Ukraine’s goalkeeper when it looked destined for the top corner.
But overall, it was a night for Kane and England to never forget. The Spurs striker had come under pressure earlier in the tournament. But three goals in two games have put that talk firmly to bed.
And Maddison, who just missed out on the squad in the end, was quick to take to Twitter to praise the England and Spurs star.
Maddison is reportedly a target for Arsenal this summer. However, he clearly isn’t worried about upsetting any Gunners fans when it comes to praising a Spurs superstar.
While talk of removing Kane from the fold was probably valid to a point, there was just no way he was getting dropped.
He is a genuine world-class striker. On his day, he’s as good as any number nine in the world. And last night was another masterclass in forward play.
Kane is clearly thriving in this young England team at the moment and loving the fact he is the leader. Maddison’s praise, then, is just another example of those in the game appreciating his greatness.
