James Maddison has now been dishing out praise to one of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates following yesterday’s Everton draw.

Perhaps Maddison and his colleagues will have been disappointed to surrender the three points late on, but there were still plenty of positives.

Ange Postecoglou’s side started the game in typically positive fashion, quickly finding themselves ahead at a tough place to win.

Richarlison produced two excellent finishes at his old club, goals that deserved a celebration even if the Brazilian stayed muted.

Micky van de Ven also impressed, with Jermaine Jenas blown away by his pace during the game.

But it was Richarlison that really stood out for Maddison during Tottenham’s draw at Everton.

The England international took to Instagram after the game in order to praise the Brazilian for two excellent finishes, goals Son Heung-min would have been proud of.

Maddison shared a story after the game collating a few photos with Richarlison.

And the Spurs talisman simply left a caption of: “Brilliant finishes today brother”, whilst tagging the goal-scorer.

James Maddison seriously impressed with Tottenham teammate Richarlison at Everton

Of course, there has been plenty of doubt around Richarlison leading the line for Spurs this season.

When Harry Kane was sold, many fans were uneasy at the thought of the Brazilian being the main man up top.

But with Son also lost to the Asian Cup right now, Richarlison has really proved his worth.

Postecoglou can now rely on the Brazilian to be in the right place, and the right time.

And as we saw against Everton yesterday, Tottenham certainly won’t be bereft of opportunities with Maddison back in the side.

Richarlison would have surely returned the compliments to his teammate just as easily, who was typically creative.

Even without Son right now, Spurs’ squad is beginning to look very strong, Postecoglou finally has choices to make.

Both the returning Pape Matar Sarr and Dejan Kulusevski were on the bench yesterday, demonstrating the tough calls the manager now has.

Tottenham now face back to back home games against two impressive sides, Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And perhaps they will now need one player to improve despite all the recent positives.
