Martin Keown has slammed Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario and suggested he is now costing them big time at crucial moments.
Vicario was unhappy all afternoon against Everton as he was stopped from coming to collect crosses on nearly ever set-piece.
In the end, Vicario was at fault again as Jarrad Branthwaite bundled home and it completed a miserable day for the 27-year-old Italian, who has otherwise been excellent since signing.
And speaking on the BBC about Vicario, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has said that the Spurs keeper is now costing his team in big moments.
“The goalkeeper for Spurs, He’s costing them goals lately, from set-pieces. He never looked comfortable from any of those set-pieces today and at the end there perhaps should have done a little better,” Keown said.

Vicario has to be better
Despite having a good first season in England, this isn’t the first time Vicario hasn’t quite looked like the top goalkeeper many think he can be.
Today was a prime example of a bullish English team targeting him and basically making his life a nightmare all afternoon.
Not once did Vicario move the Everton players out of the way and show some assertiveness. Instead, he simply moaned to the officials and got caught out for what now looks like a massive weakness in his game.
Vicario must do better. Simply.
If Tottenham are to have any sort of success and make the top four, then Vicario has to be stronger in big games and deal with these situations better.
As Keown says here, Vicario is now costing Tottenham points and that’s something that hadn’t been happening for the first few months he was here.
Ange Postecoglou will likely have picked up on this and going forward, it’s something Tottenham are going to have come up with a plan to deal with.
