Jack Wilshere hasn’t always been a fan favourite amongst Tottenham supporters.

Indeed, as an Arsenal academy graduate who often takes any opportunity he can to knock and mock Spurs, Tottenham fans often don’t like to hear what Wilshere has to say.

However, for a change, Jack Wilshere has now gone on the record to praise one key figure at Spurs.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Wilshere spoke highly of Roberto De Zerbi, claiming that he loves the Italian’s style of management.

Jack Wilshere loves Roberto De Zerbi

Wilshere was asked about Tottenham and their chances of staying up this season.

Spurs are in a sticky situation, with two games to go they’re just two points clear of the drop zone, and they know the only way to guarantee survival is to take at least four points from their next two matches.

However, Wilshere is confident that Spurs will stay up, claiming that De Zerbi is just the man for the job.

“One thing about Tottenham, Spurs now is I love De Zerbi. I love him as a coach and as a young coach like looking at an influence a coach can have on a team and the way they play. I love him. I do. I love him. So I think they’ve got a chance with him,” Wilshere said.

Jack Wilshere predicted Tottenham’s struggles

Wilshere may be a fan of De Zerbi, but he saw Tottenham’s poor season coming before a ball was kicked.

Spurs headed into this campaign optimistic after winning the Europa League last term and changing managers, but, it’s all gone belly up as they are now in the relegation mix with just two games to go.

Before the season started, Wilshere predicted that Tottenham would win just five league matches this season.

Of course, Spurs have surpassed that mark, winning nine games in the league this season, but Wilshere’s prediction wasn’t as far away as many would have expected.

It’s now crunch time for Spurs, and it will be interesting to see if they can get out of this situation.
