The new Premier League season is just around the corner, and it’s time to start predicting what will happen next season.
Indeed, the fixture list for next season has been announced, and we’re starting to get a feel for what the 2025/26 season will look like.
Speaking to The Sun, Jack Wilshere, alongside a number of other pundits, has been asked to give his ‘crazy’ prediction for next year.
Inevitably, Wilshere’s prediction centred around Arsenal winning the Champions League, while he also made a cheeky dig at Tottenham too.

Jack Wilshere makes ‘crazy’ Tottenham prediction
Wilshere shared his outlandish prediction for Spurs next season.
Tottenham finished 17th this year and were one of the worst teams in the Premier League.
Wilshere isn’t expecting a marked improvement under Thomas Frank at Spurs, tipping the north London club to win just five games next season.
Meanwhile, Chris Sutton thinks Spurs will get a lot better next term.
On top of this, Wilshere also backed Arsenal to win the Champions League.
“What is your crazy prediction for next season?” Wilshere was asked.
“Arsenal win the Champions League, Tottenham win five matches,” Wilshere said.
Tottenham’s worst Premier League seasons
Wilshere reckons Tottenham might only win five games next year, and that would likely see Spurs relegated.
At any other point in time, that would be a truly ludicrous suggestion, but Tottenham did finish 17th last year.
Spurs were one of the worst teams in England last term, and with the further added fixture congestion of Champions League football next term, things may not get any better.
Tottenham have had poor campaigns in the past, but they’ve never come close to having just five wins in a campaign.
| Season | Position | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Points |
| 2024/25 | 17th | 38 | 11 | 5 | 22 | 38 |
| 1997/98 | 14th | 38 | 11 | 11 | 16 | 44 |
| 2003/04 | 14th | 38 | 13 | 6 | 19 | 45 |
| 1993/94 | 15th | 42 | 11 | 12 | 19 | 45 |
Of course, as an Arsenal legend, Wilshere is probably on the wind up a bit here as he wants to rile up Tottenham supporters, but after such a poor season last time around, Spurs do need to have half an eye on the chance that they are in a relegation scrap this season.
As things stand, there are 16 teams in the Premier League who are provably better than Tottenham, and Thomas Frank has a big job on his hands to turn the tide here.
Luckily, help could be on the way, Tottenham are looking at some exciting signings, and with a new manager and a new direction, things could be looking up soon.
