Jack Wilshere has lauded Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Instagram after the Liverpool player’s cameo in their win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The Reds have put one foot in the knockout stages of the Champions League. They beat Atleti 3-2 in a dramatic clash in the Spanish capital.

Liverpool had taken a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes through Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita. But the home side were level before the break.
Antoine Griezmann was then sent off after the interval after catching Roberto Firmino with a high boot.
And Salah put the Reds back in front from the penalty spot after Diogo Jota was brought down.

The drama did not end there. Jota was initially penalised for a push on Jose Maria Gimenez inside the Liverpool box. However, the referee then overturned his decision after viewing replays of the incident.
And Jurgen Klopp’s men were then able to see out the contest.
It was not Liverpool’s best performance of the campaign. But some of their players did still manage to impress.

He showed some real intent at both ends of the pitch at a time when the Reds would have been worried about Atletico completing the comeback.
The 28-year-old has now taken to social media to express his delight at the win. And amongst those to reply was former teammate Wilshere, who praised the midfielder’s showing with a one-word reply…
