Jack Wilshere makes bold claim about Tottenham star Harry Kane

Former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, has suggested that Tottenham striker Harry Kane would be given a new contract at the club if he decided to ask for one.

Kane’s future remains very much in the balance with Spurs. Although more secure than the summer – when Kane admitted he might look to leave – there are still murmurings about whether or not the England skipper will stay put.

Indeed, Manchester City are known to still be interested in Kane, and Pep Guardiola has made no secret of his desire to see a new striker arrive. However, Kane still has a contract with Spurs until 2024.

And despite talk of a potential exit, Jack Wilshere believes that Kane has such a draw at Spurs, that if he asked for an even better contract, then the club would give him one.

“If Harry Kane went in tomorrow and said I want a new contract, they’re going to give him a new contract. He has that pull, and he’s the captain, and the best player,” Wilshere told Talksport.

“If he does sign a new deal, then I can’t see him ever leaving. They might put a release clause in there for say £100m. But is someone going to pay £100m for a 28, 29-year-old? I don’t know.”

Kane has picked up form of late under Conte. After only scoring once in 12 games, the England man has bagged in his last two outings.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Should Have Sold Kane While They Had Chance

You feel like the ship has sailed a bit with Kane and a big money sale. Daniel Levy wanted near £150m for Kane in the summer and nobody was ever paying that.

Wilshere makes a good point though. Spurs would give Kane a new deal if he wanted. He’s simply too important to the club.
