Jack Grealish annoyed by what Jude Bellingham said to him straight after he scored for England

Jack Grealish has admitted that Liverpool target Jude Bellingham seriously annoyed him after he scored his first World Cup goal.

Grealish was speaking to BBC Sport, and asked about his goal.

It’s a moment that Grealish will never forget.

The midfielder rounded off England’s rout of Iran as they started their campaign in Qatar with an emphatic 6-2 win.

The 27-year-old benefitted from an unselfish pull back from Callum Wilson to tap the ball into the empty net.

However, Grealish’s joy was almost short-lived when Jude Bellingham spoke to him after he scored, which annoyed him greatly.

Bellingham has been one of the standout players of the World Cup.

The teenager has been sensational, and Grealish has even admitted his talent is ‘absolutely frightening’.

Bellingham may not be destined to stay in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund for much longer.

The 19-year-old has been linked with Liverpool for some time, while PSG are now also interested in his services.

If Bellingham does make the move to Anfield, he’ll end up being rivals with Grealish at Man City.

The Dortmund teenager may already have the upper hand over his Brummie rival.

In an interview with the BBC, Grealish was shown a clip of his goal and celebration against Iran.

Grealish admitted he was annoyed with Bellingham for what he said as soon as he stopped celebrating.

“Straight after that, Jude comes up to me and Jude goes, ‘You’re offside,’” Grealish said.

“And I like, ‘Nah’, so I was walking back, and for some reason I thought he already knew.

“The ref blew his whistle and half-looked at him to say, ‘Are you bantering?’, just coming up to me and killing my vibe like that.

It’s unlikely Bellingham had any intention of annoying Grealish by telling him he was offside.

However, the winger’s goal was quickly confirmed by the referee, much to his relief.

Grealish has since played a bit-part role in Qatar, coming on as a substitute in every game thus far.

He’ll be hoping Bellingham can continue to drive England forward, as they face a tough test against France in the quarter-finals.
