'I've been speaking': Journalist claims he's got injury news he's 'delighted' to tell Tottenham fans
Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp will be fit for the start of Antonio Conte’s first pre-season at the club.
That is according to journalist Alasdair Gold on his YouTube channel, who says he has been doing some digging around Skipp’s situation.
Skipp has some injury complications with a pelvic problem but after a minor operation in America during April, he should be fighting fit ahead of the new campaign.
And he will need to be because Conte’s pre-seasons are famously punishing as he looks to get his players in the best possible shape.
Skipp will be fit for pre-season
Gold said: “I’ve been speaking to some people around Oliver Skipp, finding out what is happening with him.
“I’ve had a few people asking me how he’s getting on. Delighted to say, he’s really good fitness wise.
“He’ll be absolutely ready and raring to go for the first day of pre-season, to hit the ground running. No issues there, he’ll be back in and ready to go, which is great.
“Towards the end of the season, he was out on the training pitches, running and doing ball work. In pre-season, he should be 100 per cent and ready to go.”
It was reported in April that Conte is a huge fan of Skipp and wants to keep him around throughout the duration of his Spurs reign.
We have not even seen him play with Rodrigo Bentancur yet, and that is a potentially exciting partnership ahead of the new season.
Spurs will need more depth and quality with Champions League football ahead next season, and what a test playing against Europe’s top midfielders will be for Skipp.
