'It's not enough': Kevin Campbell urges Arsenal to sign Tammy Abraham as well as Mudryk

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will know that the next few weeks in the transfer market could make or break their season.

After their downturn in form post-January 12 months ago, they’ll want to avoid a repeat of that.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Kevin Campbell has spoken about what Arsenal need to do in the market.

He’s of the belief that the side need a couple of big names through the door to keep their title challenge on track.

One of those is almost certain to be Shakhtar forward Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The young winger has been linked with Arsenal for months, and negotiations are very much ongoing.

However, Campbell has admitted he doesn’t think the addition of just Mudryk will be enough.

He’s now said that he would like Arsenal to move for Roma forward Tammy Abraham as well.

After leaving Chelsea for Serie A last summer, the ‘unbelievable’ forward has enjoyed a mixed spell in Italy.

His 17 league goals last season were very impressive, but he’s only found the back of the net four times this season.

Campbell wants Arsenal to move for Abraham

Speaking to Sky Sports News about Arsenal’s potential transfer dealings, Campbell said: “Mudryk will be a really good addition, I still think they need another striker.

“Rumour has it that they were interested in Tammy Abraham.

“I think that would be a good alternative as well, so they can mix and match and play different players, as there’s a lot of games to come.”

The £34m forward looks unlikely to go anywhere in January at this time.

Fabrizio Romano has said that Abraham looks set to stay at Roma for the remainder of this season.

CalcioMercato believed Abraham was on a shortlist to replace Gabriel Jesus when he picked up an injury.

However, the recent form of Eddie Nketiah would have eased some of Arteta’s fears.

Campbell is still under the impression that Arsenal should move to sign Abraham this month.

If Nketiah were to pick up an injury, that would force Arsenal to act.

But with Mudryk looking like the Gunners most likely incoming this month, another expensive attacking outlay may not be possible.
