Gary Neville suggested that what Marcus Rashford did just before the 10 minute mark was scary as Manchester United made a lightning start against Luton Town on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s side would have known that going to Kenilworth Road would properly test them as they look to keep themselves in the race for the top-four in the Premier League.
However, they could have hardly asked for a better start against the Hatters. Rasmus Hojlund had scored twice in the first seven minutes to continue his remarkable run of form in front of goal.
Gary Neville amazed by Marcus Rashford run
And it remained an end to end game, with the home side halving the deficit after 14 minutes, with Carlton Morris bravely heading home with Andre Onana flying towards him.

Before that, Manchester United had an opportunity to extend their lead, with Marcus Rashford leading a counter attack. Ten Hag’s men won possession back in their own half, and that allowed Rashford to break with Hojlund ahead of him and Harry Maguire also bursting forward.
Rashford decided to go on his own and ended up slicing his effort wide. But speaking on Sky Sports (broadcast on 18/2; 16:40), Gary Neville insisted that he was amazed by the pace of the 26-year-old.
“He had other options, but the confidence was there, the drive was there. It was scary the way he went past Ross Barkley. Just cuts right across him. And then the runs of Hojlund and Maguire just open it up and he might reverse pass it to them, but he doesn’t. He just takes that shot in the end,” he said.
Manchester United forward looking like his old self
Rashford appears to be looking more like the player who was absolutely sensational last season. He seems to be regaining his confidence after a quiet start to the campaign.
There had been suggestions that Manchester United would be better off selling Rashford. But he appears to have regained his focus.
And while he should have done better with that particular chance, the run itself was a reminder of just how devastating he can be.
