Michael Bridges has suggested that he is convinced that one Manchester United player is the real deal, and claimed that he loves everything about him.

Things appear to be looking a little brighter for Erik ten Hag‘s side right now. Manchester United have now won five of their last six games in all competitions.

And Rasmus Hojlund has played a crucial role in their turnaround. The 21-year-old took some time to get going in the Premier League following his £72 million move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Michael Bridges lauds Rasmus Hojlund after yet another goal

He had did score in the Champions League group-stages. However, he did not open his account in the Premier League until Boxing Day. But now he cannot stop scoring.

The Denmark international has scored in each of his last five league appearances. Meanwhile, he has also provided two assists for United in that run. It is a reminder of why Hojlund is being tipped to become one of the world’s best strikers.

And speaking on The Optus Sport Football Podcast, Michael Bridges insisted that he is such a huge fan of the young striker.

“I love him, I love everything about him. I like his pace, I think you’ve seen in the Champions League. He was struggling in the Premier League. He was trying too hard, he just needed something to go in, in off his backside, off his nose to get that one goal. You saw in the Champions League that he was scoring. You’ve seen with his previous club that he can score goals. He has pace to burn, he can play with his back to goal and hold the ball up and bring others in,” he said.

“The moment that I loved was when he scored his goal for Manchester United in the Premier League and how much it meant to him. He had tears running down his face, so he’s passionate. The players all ran to him to show what it meant it to him, so he’s a team player because they all wanted to be a part of it. I think he ticks a lot of boxes now. This guy is the real deal. I’m a big fan of his, and I like everything about him.”

Manchester United fans have reason for optimism

There is still plenty of work ahead for Manchester United. Ten Hag has probably got a lot of doubters still to silence. And it is unclear whether he is going to be the right man to lead the club in the future.

However, there are players who are giving supporters some reason for optimism. Of course, many will talk about that image of Hojlund alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho during the 3-0 win over West Ham for years to come.

There are players who have really stepped up in recent weeks. And Hojlund is most definitely one of those who is making a massive impact.

Clearly, Bridges is confident that there is a lot more to come from the forward in the years ahead.
