Stan Collymore does not think that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will join Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
However, the former Villa striker believes that Ramsdale will leave Arsenal in 2024.
So, what has Stan Collymore said about Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and Aston Villa? Let’s take a look.
Aaron Ramsdale tipped to leave Arsenal
Well, Stan Collymore does not think that Aaron Ramsdale will be at Arsenal for much longer.
The former Aston Villa striker believes that Ramsdale will be at a new club by the start of next season.
The pundit has noted that David Raya is now the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal, with Ramsdale playing second fiddle to the Spain international goalkeeper.
Collymore, though, does not think that Ramsdale will want to move to Villa, who are now managed by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
The pundit has noted that the £24 million (The Athletic) England international goalkeeper will struggle to get into the Villa starting lineup ahead of Emiliano Martinez.

Collymore wrote about Ramsdale in CaughtOffSide: “Aston Villa, according to a recent report from Birmingham Live, are considering signing a new goalkeeper. Emi Martinez is obviously the number one at Villa Park and will continue to be but there is hope Unai Emery will be able to bring in a backup keeper to help provide cover, perhaps to then become the side’s next number one once Martinez does move on.
“I think this would be a sensible position to try and reinforce but there are no obvious names that jump out of me when it comes to possible targets.
“Aaron Ramsdale is facing an uncertain future at Arsenal following David Raya’s arrival from Brentford last summer, but I am not sure the Englishman would want to join Villa knowing he isn’t guaranteed to be the number one — that’s the position he’s in under Mikel Arteta and it seems quite obvious that he won’t be sticking around beyond this season, so to move to a club and be in the same predicament would be pointless.”
My View: Aaron Ramsdale should leave Arsenal in 2024 summer
In my opinion, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale should seriously consider leaving in the summer of 2024.
There is even speculation that the England international could head for the exit in the January transfer window.
If Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta persists with David Raya despite the Spanish goalkeeper making mistakes, then Ramsdale has to leave for another club.
There is no point in Ramsdale in waiting for his chance that may never come. He is too good to play second fiddle to Raya.
