Report: £73k-a-week Raiola client could be sold this summer, amid Tottenham and Newcastle interest

English clubs including Tottenham and Newcastle have been handed a potential boost by Inter Milan, amid reports that the Serie A side could sell Stefan de Vrij.

Tottenham are known to be keen on De Vrij, who played under Antonio Conte at the San Siro. 90Min.com also claimed last week that both Everton and Newcastle are keeping close tabs on the Inter star as well.

And according to reports in Italy, De Vrij may well be allowed to leave Inter after all. Calciomercato reports that the Nerazzurri are open to selling the Dutchman as they look to build around Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

Despite being a key figure for Inter in recent times, Calciomercato claims that De Vrij could be the one who the Serie A side cash in on. The club needs to raise funds, despite selling the likes of Romelu Lukaku for huge money this past summer.

In England, Tottenham are being linked with a number of Inter Milan players after Antonio Conte took over. The likes of Marcelo Brozovic are among those being mentioned.

TBR’s View: Time for Tottenham to swoop if they want De Vrij

Surely this is the sort of opening Tottenham were waiting for if they are serious about pursuing De Vrij. If Inter will sell, then Spurs need to be all over it like a rash.

De Vrij is a quality operator and like so many in this Inter team, is a trusted troop of Conte and his coaching team. Not to mention, he’s also just a fantastic defender.

It seems clubs are planning for January and beyond already. Of course, when you’re like Inter and need to bring funds in, this opens doors for other clubs.

Here, then, is a no-brainer from a Tottenham point of view. De Vrij is class, and should be signed if there is the opportunity to do so.
