Tottenham have been linked with a move for Stefan De Vrij for some time now and the door might be about to open for them to finally land him.
Just last month we reported on TBR how Antonio Conte had asked Tottenham to go and sign De Vrij. The Dutch defender is highly-rated by the Spurs boss, with the Italian having worked with him during their title-winning season together in Milan.

And now, in a strange twist of fate, Inter could actually be willing to sell De Vrij to make room for another potential Spurs target, Gleison Bremer. That’s according to Calciomercato anyway, who suggest that is the route Inter are considering going down.
De Vrij, who Conte has previously said can be ‘world-class’, has appeared more than 150 times for Inter. But he is now 30, and it’s believed the Serie A side want to take Bremer from Torino to replace him.
TBR’s View: De Vrij Is Trusted By Conte And Would Work For Tottenham
It’s always an added bonus is a player and manager know each other well enough already so this sort of signing does make sense for Spurs.
The only issue really is De Vrij’s age. At 30, there’s not really scope for much improvement or sell-on value. But Conte has spoken previously of wanting players who are ready now to bring success to Tottenham, and De Vrij is in that bracket.
This is a big summer coming up for Spurs. And landing De Vrij would be a smart move if they can wrap a deal up early.
