Report: Tottenham have already made strong move to sign ‘world-class’ player who Conte wants this summer

Tottenham might have suffered another Premier League defeat this weekend but it seems they are already making plans for the summer transfer window.

Fabio Paratici is expected to be a busy man once again in the summer months. The club are expected to back Antonio Conte in the market, which could see a host of new players arrive at Tottenham. And one player who could arrive is Inter Milan defender, Stefan de Vrij.

According to FC Inter News, Tottenham have already made their move for De Vrij and out of all the interested clubs, are said to have put forward the most concrete proposal. The Dutchman has yet to sign new terms with Inter, and Antonio Conte is said to be a big fan of the defender.

De Vrij was a key player for Conte when he won the league with Inter last year. FC Inter News claim that Conte would gladly take De Vrij at the heart of his defence. Indeed, this is a player who Conte has tipped to become ‘world-class’.

Further, Inter are also said to be making plans to sign Gleison Bremer is the 30-year-old leaves.

One way Tottenham can ensure success under Conte is giving him players who he already knows and trusts. In De Vrij, they’d certainly be giving him that.

The Dutchman has plenty of experience at the very top level and is a winner. That is something that’s been thrown at Spurs for a long time now, that they simply don’t have enough players with that mentality in the XI.

Summer is going to be massive for Spurs. And if they can get De Vrij through the door early on, then it will be a huge boost to Conte.
