According to Arsenal insider, the club are scheduled to meet a ‘world class’ player this week in a bid to convince him to join this summer transfer window.

Arsenal are still locked in negotiations with Bologna over the transfer of Riccardo Calafiori and whilst that deal plays out, they’re believed to be in talks to sign an attacker.

That comes from an Arsenal insider, who has provided all the latest on The Gunners’ pursuit of a highly sought-after Euro 2024 star.

Big presentation prepared for Nico Williams

Arsenal insider Team News and Tix has shared the latest on the club’s pursuit of Spain and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

“I’ve heard rumours we were due to speak to Nico Williams this week to see if there is any chance of persuading him to join us,” the insider shared on his Patreon.

“The rumour was we have prepared a Rice-like presentation. I spoke to someone at the club who reiterated we absolutely love him and will take a chance if we get it.”

Williams is thought to have a £50m release clause in his contract which has put clubs around Europe on red alert.

Barcelona, Chelsea and Newcastle United have all been credited with an interest in the 2002-born wide player, who netted in the Euro 2024 final against England.

Nico Williams statistics

Williams, who has been labelled ‘world class’ per Optus Sport, enjoyed a phenomenal season with Bilbao last year.

The Spaniard netted eight times whilst laying on 19 assists, evincing his elite playmaking abilities – a trait missing somewhat in Arsenal’s wide areas.

The jet-heeled forward excels in one-on-one duels and is most comfortable plying his trade off the left, so should he sign, he’ll be in direct competition with Gabriel Martinelli.

In other news, a £105m ‘superstar’ who Arsenal want to sign has just agreed to join PSG this summer.
