'Incredible talent', 'Be huge for us': Some Everton fans react to hearing Benitez wants £60m star
A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror claiming that the Toffees are eyeing Allan Saint-Maximin amid doubts over Richarlison’s future.
Richarlison could be looking to leave Goodison Park this summer. It was recently claimed that he was considering moving on in the wake of Carlo Ancelotti’s departure.
In fact, Ancelotti has apparently been in contact with the Brazilian about a potential switch to Real Madrid.
It remains to be seen if Richarlison leaves. But it does appear that Everton are prepared in case he does look set to go.
According to the Mirror, Rafa Benitez wants Saint-Maximin, who is valued at around £60 million by Newcastle.
The Magpies are under little pressure to sell Saint-Maximin, who is reportedly under contract for another five years.
His return from injury seemed quite pivotal in helping Steve Bruce’s men move themselves out of relegation trouble last season.
His blistering pace often terrifies defenders. And he can play almost anywhere across the forward line.
‘Yes please’: Everton fans delighted by Saint-Maximin reports
So it is little surprise that many Everton fans seem excited about the links. Admittedly, some are concerned about his injury record considering his valuation.
However, many feel that there is a lot to come from Saint-Maximin in the coming years. And they believe that he could be an inspired addition if he moved to Merseyside.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…

Saint-Maximin is way better than what we currently have, that said there should be better ways of spending £50m than a 1 good game in 10, injury probe winger…

Interesting one. I’d buy him anyway if they would sell. Plays on the wing or number ten. Just rotate Richy James and St Maximin. Get the feeling we are skint though
