Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe pulled off a brilliant nutmeg on Bukayo Saka in training ahead of their clash against Porto tonight.

Mikel Arteta has been busy putting his players through their paces at London Colney ahead of a huge Champions League clash.

The Gunners will face the task of coming back from 1-0 down at the Emirates Stadium this evening after losing the first leg in Porto.

Emile Smith Rowe is one player who will be hoping to get some minutes under his belt in what is a huge clash for Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has managed just three appearances in the Champions League this term, with all three coming from the bench.

But it would appear that Smith Rowe has looked sharp in training this week as he pulled off a brilliant nutmeg on fellow academy product Bukayo Saka.

In a video posted on Arsenal’s official website, Smith Rowe was involved in a game of rondo alongside the likes of Declan Rice, Ben White, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Saka.

During the training drill, Smith Rowe caught Saka off guard as he stepped to the right after being closed down by the 22-year-old.

The midfielder then nutmegged Saka, which as expected gained some reaction from coaches and players.

Saka is certainly no stranger to being nutmegged during training and has already been caught out by Jurrien Timber this season.

It’s fair to say that Saka’s defending isn’t exactly his strong point and Smith Rowe made the most of that yesterday.

Arsenal’s players appear to be in good spirits ahead of tonight’s game off the back of an exceptional run of form in the Premier League.

Given Arteta’s reluctance to start Smith Rowe this season, it feels unlikely that he will feature from the off. The ‘incredible’ midfielder may yet feature from the bench, particularly with Gabriel Martinelli sidelined.
