Mousa Dembele is considered by many to be one of the best players at Tottenham in recent years.
The Belgian may not have got the credit he deserved during his playing days, but now, he’s spoken about on almost a deity-level.
Indeed, the likes of Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose have spoken about Dembele in glowing terms recently, and now, so has Alfie Whiteman.
Speaking on the Off The Shelf Podcast, Whiteman has been discussing his favourite teammates at Tottenham, and he says that Dembele was one of his favourites, claiming that he was truly brilliant in training.

Mousa Dembele was brilliant
Whiteman spoke about the midfielder.
“Favourite Spurs player you have played with?” Whiteman was asked.
“Everyone says that the best player in training was Mousa Dembele, and I agree with that he was incredible, but I’m going to say Joe Hart. I loved working with him, he’s someone I have so much respect for and I learned so much from him,” Whiteman said.
What a player
Dembele was a true player’s player.
The Belgian was never widely discussed as one of Tottenham’s best players during his time at the club, but anyone who played with the midfielder will tell you just how brilliant he was.
He wasn’t the flashiest of footballers, but he was incredible in possession and he would never ever give the ball away or be dispossessed cheaply.
He’s everything you would want from a midfield player, strong, smart, neat with the ball and with great vision.
There really aren’t many players around these days like Dembele, and while he never got the credit he truly deserved, Tottenham were so lucky to have him during his prime years.
Whiteman didn’t play too much with the Belgian, but it sounds as though he left a lasting impression on the goalkeeper in any case.
