'I'm your big fan': Arsenal player sends a message to £17m Leeds star
Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has told Raphinha that ‘I am your big fan’ after the Leeds man uploaded a post on Instagram on Saturday.
Both Arsenal and Leeds could find themselves fighting for similar places next season, after the duo finished eighth and ninth, respectively during the last campaign.
And both Gabriel and Raphinha, who were signed last summer, will have to play pivotal roles in their teams securing those European spots.
Less than two weeks remain until Arsenal kick off the 2021/22 Premier League season against Brentford, with Leeds preparing for a mouthwatering tie against bitter rivals, Manchester United.
Nonetheless, Raphinha posted on Instagram yesterday “Just do it! Don’t be afraid… They are going to criticise you in every way, whether you are doing it or not.”
And Arsenal’s key man at the back responded to his post by simpling writing in the comments section: “I am your big fan.”
Well, it’s not only Gabriel who is a fan of Raphinha because the £17 million star (BBC Sport) was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season and he won lots of plaudits from the neutrals.
From putting multiple Premier League title-winner, Gary Cahill, on his backside to scoring his first goal for the Whites during Leeds’ 1-0 win against Everton.
It was an outstanding debut campaign from the Brazil superstar, who scored six league goals and supplied nine assists (transfermarkt).
As for Gabriel, during Arsenal’s troubles during the first half of the 2020/21 campaign, he was one of their best players, but his game time and form decreased as the season wore on.
But, one thing is for sure, both Leeds and Arsenal have two top-quality performers on their hands.
