'I'll take £28m', 'crazy': Some fans convinced Arsenal are about to sign their 'superb' player
The transfer saga involving Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale looks to be back on.
Talks between the Gunners and Sheffield United reportedly broke down last week over the fee.
The Blades apparently value Ramsdale at £30million, but the Gunners weren’t prepared to go that high.
However, football.london claimed yesterday that the Yorkshire club is “keen on recouping a transfer fee for Ramsdale this summer”.
The outlet adds that “a deal (is) now more likely than ever to happen”.
A deal could be reached for £20million, with achievable add-ons increasing the eventual fee, added the report.
Ramsdale is popular with Sheffield United fans thanks to his superb service for them last season.
He only rejoined the Blades last summer but he gave his all in their battle against relegation, which they sadly lost.
Ramsdale was their player of the season despite the club dropping into the Championship.
Now, it looks as though many fans have resigned themselves to losing the 23-year-old and are hoping the club can reinvest.
Here is some of the Twitter reaction about Ramsdale’s potential Arsenal switch:
It seems inevitable hes gonna leave doesnt it.— Mick ⚔🔴⚪🇬🇧 (@longshotmick) August 17, 2021
Dare I say, whatever happens is surely positive? I love Aaron, if he stays for a number of years he’s a future captain. A great lad and a superb keeper. If he goes? We have made about £10m in 1 season, crazy. I’ll wish him the best luck too, he deserves it. Hope he stays though⚔️— Kop.Finest (@KopFinest) August 17, 2021
And if he dosent and we don’t win promotion? It drops massively. Good deal for us in my opinion— ⒹⒶⓃⒺ (@daneshaw8) August 17, 2021
Snap there hands off ramsdale will regret the move to Arsenal,he either sits on the bench or gets slung in the mix ! But if he doesn’t start well then he will be in all sorts of trouble ⚔️— L M Hill Carpets (@l_carpets) August 17, 2021
If Ramsdale does go, We need to have a replacement lined up ready to sign #Sufc— jxk vxll (@Jxk_Vxll) August 17, 2021
I’ll take £28 mill for sure— Justin (@Justin23Rice) August 17, 2021
@bladespod said it best – he could potentially be another Jack Butland, peaks in value and then ends up on a big club’s bench running down contracts.— Karl. ⚔️🇷🇸 (@fatladfromShef) August 17, 2021
Would love to see him in the Premier League, just not on the bench of a basket case club like Arsenal.
