Former England striker, Ian Wright, has questioned whether Kalvin Phillips will remain with Leeds for much longer, amid reported interest from Arsenal.
90Min reported just last week that Phillips was on the radar of a number of clubs. Arsenal are said to be one of them, with Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Newcastle all said to be keen.

Phillips has missed a number of games this season for Leeds. His injuries are seen as a big part of why the Whites have struggled so much, although he is back in the mix now for Jesse Marsch. But despite Phillips’ affiliation with Leeds and Elland Road, Ian Wright has told the Kelly and Wrighty Show that he thinks the England man could be looking to move on.
“He’s a very, very good player. Kalvin Phillips doesn’t strike me as a player who wants to be playing for Leeds, as much as it’s his home town club, if they’re in and around 17th. He wants to win things,” Wright said.
“He’s good enough to be in the England squad, he’s going to be ambitious, so Leeds are going to have to make sure they are putting things in place so their team is challenging.”
TBR’s View: Phillips Will Surely Leave Leeds Eventually
Whether or not that is for Arsenal is another matter. But Kalvin Phillips is too good to be loitering near the bottom of the table you feel.
Sure, Leeds might invest this summer and get it right. That could convince Phillips to give things another season or so to see where the Whites go under Marsch. But then again, a huge offer could also tempt the club into selling.
Ian Wright is right though here. Phillips will eventually look to move on, especially if Leeds struggles continue.
