Ian Wright shares what Roy Keane admitted about Liverpool target Bellingham

Ian Wright has raved about reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham and revealed what Roy Keane privately told him after watching his performance for England against Senegal at the World Cup.

The 19-year-old started for the Three Lions in the middle of the park, and he was sensational. He was one of the biggest reasons why England won the game, and even Keane was apparently blown away.

Keane has a reputation for being a bit too harsh on players sometimes. The smallest of antics often irritates him, and it’s hilarious for us to watch when he’s angry.

However, the Manchester United icon does give credit when it’s due, and after watching Bellingham run the show for England against Senegal this week, he apparently admitted something rather surprising to Wright.

The Arsenal legend revealed in his Wrighty’s House podcast that Keane admitted to him that Bellingham is already better now than the Irishman was back in the day.

Wright said: “Jude bro, he went supernova.

“(He’s) NINETEEN – It’s very hard to comprehend because when I was 19, I was still barely talking properly.

“Roy Keane said (to me): ‘He’s better than me when I finished.’ That’s what Roy Keane said. He said: ‘At 19, I can’t even get into the realms of where he is now. He’s better than me now the way he’s playing.’ The way he said it…”

We don’t know if Bellingham is already better than Keane, but if he continues progressing at the same rate, there’s a very good chance he will become one of the best midfielders the United Kingdom has ever produced.

That’s why he’s a wanted man, and almost every top club in the world would love to sign him in one of the next two transfer windows.

Liverpool are the ones who have long been linked with a move for Bellingham, but the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing him too.

Nobody knows where Bellingham will end up in 2023, but wherever he goes, he’ll likely be a star there.
