Report names club Florentino Perez thinks are biggest competitors to sign Bellingham - Liverpool or Man City
The trio are named in a report by Sky Sports News about the latest on the England midfielder’s future, alongside Manchester United.
The report claims that Madrid have pitched to Bellingham that he could become the best player in the world if he joined them from Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool think that Jurgen Klopp’s contract extension offers potential elite targets a degree of stability and certainty if they move to Anfield.
Bellingham wanted by Madrid, Liverpool and City
And they have apparently done the most work to try and convince Bellingham that a move to Merseyside is the right next move for him.
But Madrid are most concerned about City scuppering their plans because of the structure they have in place which breeds constant success.
They are also concerned that the prospect of moving back to England would be appealing to Bellingham, who is seen as a future Three Lions captain.
Liverpool’s information on Bellingham apparently goes all the way back when he came through in Birmingham’s academy. That is how long they have been keen on him for.
Bellingham’s team apparently judge teams on their work over a number of years, which means he is less likely to react unfavourably to Liverpool’s poor season so far.
A bigger concern has to be whether Liverpool can compete financially with Madrid and City, and if they do not finish in the Champions League places this season, putting such a package together would surely prove beyond them.
