Ian Wright says Tottenham have one player who makes his ‘blood boil’

Ian Wright has praised Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison before admitting that the attacker makes his ‘blood boil’.

Spurs take on Everton in a few hours and Richarlison is expected to start up front. It will be a special game for him against his old club, but he would love nothing more than to score and win Tottenham the game.

Richarlison is into his second season at Tottenham, and this has been a much better campaign than the last one, hasn’t it?

The Brazilian had a shocking debut year at Spurs. He managed just three goals in all competitions and came under a ton of criticism.

Richarlison underwent surgery to fix a problem he had been facing, and he has looked like a totally different player since his return. He has scored seven goals in his last seven games in the Premier League.

Ian Wright praised Richarlison and claimed he always knew the Brazilian would come good once he fixed his injury. He also said that the 26-year-old is the type of guy who will always ‘annoy’ the opposition but will still manage to nick a goal.

Speaking on Wrighty’s House, he said: “The thing with Richarlison, you see with Richarlison as well, I always said once he sorted his groin out, he’s the kind of guy who can just go on those runs where he’ll score goals.

“He’s that guy away from home you can guarantee will annoy the away fans, annoy people and nick a goal as well. He’s ready to go now.”

In the same podcast, while talking about “players you only love if they’re on your team”, Wright suggested Anthony Martial. He then quickly retracted his claim and said the Manchester United man doesn’t anger him as much as Richarlison.

“He (Martial) doesn’t make my blood boil like Richarlison and Maupay. They only have to come on and just have a normal face on, and I’m just like (annoyed).”

Tottenham fans love Richarlison

Richarlison is definitely a player fans would love if he’s on their side.

The Brazilian can be really annoying to opposition players and fans. You saw what Neal Maupay did against Tottenham recently – Richarlison can be like him too and even had a go at the Frenchman in the same game.

That’s what makes Tottenham fans love Richarlison, and the fact that he’s scoring regularly now makes him even more of a favourite at the club.

Richarlison is in fantastic form, and we won’t be surprised if he scores again today.
