Ian Wright has named the two Arsenal players he feels sorry for after Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s men continue to find themselves in a rut. The Gunners have now won just one of their last seven games in all competitions. And they have only managed to score five goals in that time.
Unfortunately, the frustration in front of goal continued on Sunday. Arsenal got themselves into good positions on a number of occasions in the first-half, with Kai Havertz one of those who missed several chances.
Ian Wright feels sorry for William Saliba and Declan Rice after Arsenal loss
Arsenal breezed through their Champions League group and they remain in contention in the Premier League. But it is fair to say that Arteta has plenty to ponder, particularly while the January window is open.

Few players are playing anywhere near as well as they were last season. In fact, speaking on Wrighty’s House, Ian Wright suggested that he has a lot of sympathy for both William Saliba and Declan Rice.
“At the same, I could just feel this coming. I feel sorry for the players for are putting it in properly,” he said.
“I feel for Saliba, I feel sorry for Declan Rice. To be honest, I thought Jorginho did well today in the way he was controlling the game and passing the ball around for us.
“But there’s something not right when all of your front guys have stopped scoring and their form has gone together, how has that happened? What’s going on?”
Gunners in danger of watching title hopes slip away if poor form continues
Saliba has been outstanding for much of the season, showing why the hopes are so high for the Frenchman in North London.
Meanwhile, Rice has been a brilliant signing for Arsenal. He has settled into Mikel Arteta’s side so seamlessly. And he has the potential to get better and better.
The worry for Arteta will be that the rest of the Arsenal players who were so exceptional last season seem to be so far adrift of those levels right now.
There is no reason to panic. But if Arsenal do not solve some of their issues in the near future, they are surely not going to go anywhere near as close to the title this season.
