Ian Wright makes claim about Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah

Ian Wright says he can see two Liverpool stars playing for the Reds until they retire.

Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah have both been subject to speculation over their future in recent months.

The Liverpool captain and the Reds forward have yet to sign new contracts at Anfield.

However, recent reports claim both Henderson and Salah are finally closing in on new deals.

And Wright is optimistic about the state of play with both Liverpool stars.

“He (Henderson) is somebody I can see staying there for the rest of his career,” Wright said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“The same with Mo Salah now.

“We know that Liverpool, normally, at some stage, they are going to sell one of the big guys.

“Of course, the pandemic has put pay to that. They couldn’t do that.

“The next best thing. Imagine trying to buy someone like Mohamed Salah.

“How much that is going to cost with his goal return? Same with Mane. Same with Firmino.

“If you can tie them guys up, if they are going to stay then you know what you are going to get from them.

“Rather than splash out a lot of money on a player that might not fit in or score the goals.”

Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold have recently signed new contracts at Anfield.
