Celtic left-back Greg Taylor has responded on Twitter to praise from his Portuguese teammate Jota.
The Scottish left-back replied: “I think you could see in the interview I was really touched by Jota’s kind words.
“For him to say that, it did mean a lot. For your teammates to think highly of you there is no better feeling and no better praise.”
Speaking after Celtic’s 5-0 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday, Jota was keen to highlight how good the 24-year-old had been: “He’s a top player, he’s delivering in every game and his standards in every game are unbelievable.
“I don’t think he gets enough credit.”
The Portuguese forward scored a screamer in Sunday’s rout as Celtic maintained their 100% record in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Taylor responds to teammate Jota’s praise
After coming through the Rangers academy, Taylor has been a first-team player at Celtic Park since 2019 after being signed from Sunday’s opponents Kilmarnock.
Jota has had a much more exotic route to the Scottish champions, joining on loan from Benfica last season after a spell in La Liga with Real Valladolid, before making the move to Ange Postecoglou’s side permanent this summer.
Celtic have frequently looked aboard for new signings since Postecoglou’s arrival, with Alexandro Bernabei arriving from Argentina, and Daizen Maeda’s move from Japan also made permanent.

The Bhoys also looked to Barcelona for a new arrival, but missed out on Alex Collado.
Jota is traditionally a left-winger but tends to switch between either flank for Celtic, and therefore doesn’t link up with Taylor as much as one might imagine.
However, it’s clear the Portuguese appreciates his defensive colleague greatly, and Taylor’s great start to the season is being recognised within the squad.
Celtic’s next match is at home to Hearts, while they have to wait until the start of September for the first Old Firm clash of the season.
