Giovani Lo Celso is back in favour at Tottenham, for the time being at least.
Indeed, with a raft of injuries and suspensions on their hands at the moment, Spurs have had to turn towards the Argentine once again.
Lo Celso took his chance on Sunday, he scored a great goal against Aston Villa and he put in a solid performance.
The £45m man may well be expecting to stay in the team from here on in, and speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Marcus Buckland has been discussing the midfielder’s role at Spurs.
Buckland pondered whether or not Lo Celso will stay in the team now, claiming that if he doesn’t that may only add to his perceived petulance behind the scenes that he sometimes hears about.

Lo Celso can be petulant
Buckland shared what he’s heard about Lo Celso.
“I was reading some quotes from an Argentine journalist who says that Lionel Messi is a massive fan of Lo Celso and he could’ve played a huge role in Argentina’s triumphant World Cup anyway,” Buckland said.
“Let’s say Lo Celso does play well for three or four games and then everyone else comes back. Is there room for him in Tottenham’s A-team when everyone is fit, if there isn’t that will only add to his perceived petulance which I sometimes hear about behind the scenes.”
Head straight
Lo Celso may be able to be a bit petulant behind the scenes sometimes, but he needs to keep his head straight for the next few weeks at least.
This is the Argentine’s best chance in a long time to re-establish himself in the Spurs starting XI, and the way he will do that is through hard work and having the right attitude.
If Lo Celso shows professionalism over the next few weeks and keeps playing well, he will earn the trust of Ange Postecoglou and he could find himself back in the team on a regular basis from now on.
