In one of the biggest transfer sagas in recent years, Manchester City and their Old Trafford rivals have been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo.
It looked as though the Citizens were on course to land the phenomenal 36-year-old.
However, there has been a huge twist in the tale.

Multiple outlets have claimed that City have withdrawn from the race to sign Ronaldo.
The Portugal international is now seemingly on course for Manchester United.
According to The Guardian, the Citizens had hoped to bring the five-time Ballon d’Or winner back to the Premier League.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, reportedly held talks with Juventus officials in Turin on Wednesday over a potential move.
But after United also opened negotiations with Mendes, the Etihad Stadium outfit dropped out of the race, claimed the outlet.
Now, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that some at City didn’t feel Ronaldo was right for them this summer.
“I know for a fact that there were people at Manchester City who were not convinced that Cristiano Ronaldo was what they needed at this moment in time,” he said (27/8/21, 14:57).
Solhekol also took to Twitter with a similar message:
The situation is moving incredibly fast – here is Solhekol’s latest update as of 16:00:
City have signed Jack Grealish and Scott Carson this summer, with Kayky set to join next year.
