Tottenham may not be the best team in the Premier League right now, but they’re arguably the most entertaining.

Indeed, while Tottenham may not be getting results in recent weeks, they still make for great viewing as Ange Postecoglou refuses to budge from his incredible all-out-attack style of play.

Of course, Tottenham’s recent results have been affected by injuries, with numerous key players out of action, and speaking on The Game Football Podcast, Jeff Stelling has been discussing one player who has been absent for Spurs as of late – James Maddison.

Stelling has been very open about the fact he loves Maddison as a player, claiming that he absolutely adores watching him for Tottenham.

Stelling adores Maddison

Stelling spoke highly of Tottenham’s £40m man.

“My only issue with them, they have Van de Ven to come back and James Maddison to come back. Anyone who’s watched Soccer Saturday over the past few years will know I have a distant love affair with James Maddison, I just absolutely adore watching him,” Stelling said.

What a player

Stelling says that he adores Maddison as a player, and it’s really not hard to see why.

The midfielder is just an absolute joy to watch.

There aren’t many players in world football who havd Maddison’s skillset these days. In a world where many top players are athletes before they are footballers, Maddison is a throwback to a time where technical ability ruled all.

He’s got incredible vision, incredible ball control, and he’s also dynamite whenever he gets within shooting range.

It’s impossible not to love Maddison and the way he plays the game. He’s proving each and every time he steps onto the pitch that he’s one of the best players in the Premier League, and he’s already made a mockery of that £40m transfer fee Spurs paid in the summer.
