‘I got angry’: TalkSPORT pundit slams 25-year-old Tottenham player for what he did at the World Cup yesterday

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy has slammed Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison for what he and his Brazil teammates did at the World Cup yesterday.

Richarlison may still be finding his feet at Spurs under Antonio Conte but he is Brazil’s main man at the moment.

The 25-year-old has bagged three goals in as many World Cup appearances for Tite’s men and two of them were arguably the standout goals of the tournament so far.

Brazil thrashed South Korea 4-1 last night to advance to the quarter-finals and their players clearly enjoyed the occasion.

Richarlison and his teammates produced four different dance routines to celebrate each goal against Paulo Bento’s men. While some loved to see the Brazilian players enjoying themselves, others thought it was disrespectful – including Roy Keane

Now, TalkSPORT’s Cundy has slammed Richarlison and his teammates for displaying too much ‘arrogance’ last night.

Cundy slams Richarlison and Brazil

Speaking on TalkSPORT after last night’s game, Cundy wasn’t impressed with Brazil boss Tite joining Richarlison’s celebrations after his goal.

“When I see them, the four of them lining up doing a dance routine that they practiced from the training ground after seven minutes in against South Korea, I’m like, ‘Come on, you are Brazil’,” he said.

“You should be able to go into this tournament, just do the job in hand. If you want to dance, do it at the full-time whistle. They’re going over to the gaffer, third goal, doing the chicken dance.

“That is one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen at the World Cup, you’re playing South Korea. I expected Brazil to win comfortably, in fact it was more comfortable than I thought. I got angry when I was watching it.

“The piece de resistance is when they got the gaffer doing whatever it is, the turkey or the chicken whatever they ended up doing, Richarlison when he does the old man walk. Imagine that was Gareth Southgate, what would people say?

“I fell out of love with Brazil tonight, I feel out of love with that arrogance, that cockiness. I hope someone sticks it on them. I looked at that and felt cringey.”

Brazil’s celebrations certainly seemed to have divided opinion but they undoubtedly put in their best display of the tournament against South Korea.

Richarlison continues to impress while leading the line for Tite’s men and is currently in the race to win the Golden Boot at the World Cup.

Brazil will face a sterner test in Croatia next and Richarlison will be hoping to continue his brilliant goal scoring form on Friday.
