Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp made his first start of the season against Newcastle United yesterday.
Skipp was downbeat about the result, but did deliver some positives on his own situation.
The 22-year-old missed the start of the season with a foot injury, returning to action at the start of the month.

And Skipp has now said he’s fully fit and feeling ‘100%’ after missing some of Antonio Conte’s brutal pre-season.
Skipp managed to play just over an hour yesterday before Conte made an attacking change and brought on Lucas Moura.
Conte revealed last month that Skipp had been ‘suffering a bit’ with his fitness and hadn’t been up to full speed for nine months.
However, Skipp’s now confident he’s fully fit and hoping to get better and better as he gets more game time.
Skipp now says he’s fully fit
Speaking after the match, Skipp was asked about his fitness and said: “I feel 100%. Training hard, that rhythm will start to come with the more and more training time and more and more game time that I get.
“I need to keep pushing and make sure when I get those opportunities I can take them and perform better and better each time.”
It was a solid performance from Skipp given he hadn’t started a match since January.

However, the balance of Antonio Conte’s side didn’t look right without Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.
Conte went with three players in midfield, but all filled too similar a role to create many meaningful chances.
The Italian manager is a big fan of Skipp, and will be glad that he’s now fully fit and available to play.
However, the balance of the team doesn’t look right at the moment, and further tweaks might be needed before their Champions League tie against Sporting on Wednesday.
