Aaron Ramsdale’s Arsenal future has been a point of discussion for a little while now.

The England international has been rotting on the bench at the Emirates for quite some time now, and many believe he needs to leave north London for the good of his career.

However, speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast, Sam Wallace has been discussing Ramsdale’s future, and he doesn’t think that the £25m man will be leaving anytime soon.

Wallace says that Ramsdale’s only chance of getting his place in the England team back is by fighting for his spot at Arsenal, and, for that reason, he can’t see him leaving.

Ramsdale won’t leave

Wallace shared his verdict on the goalkeeper.

“I don’t think he will and I don’t think he should. The only way he’s going to get into the England squad is by fighting for his place at Arsenal. He just needs to get his head down and work hard, he needs to have less of the noise from his camp, and he needs to just let his goalkeeping do the talking,” Wallace said.

Starts this weekend

Ramsdale needs to work his way back into the fold at Arsenal, and that starts this weekend.

He’s finally in line to start on Saturday against Brentford as David Raya is ineligible to play against his parent club, and if he puts on a real show against the Bees, he’ll hive Mikel Arteta a decision to make.

Of course, whether or not Ramsdale is up to the task remains to be seen – he was poor against West Ham the last time he got a start in the Carabao Cup, and it’s hard to back him to bounce back here.

Ramsdale will certainly have a number of eyes on him as he returns to the XI this weekend.
