‘I don’t know anyone’: Merson says Tottenham have a player who’s completely different to everyone else in the world

Paul Merson has lavished praise on Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane ahead of their game against Aston Villa.

Spurs have suddenly found themselves in an incredible position in the league table. They are currently fourth, above Arsenal thanks to their goal difference.

Even though the Gunners have a game in hand, Tottenham could well be the favourites to get over the line as they host Mikel Arteta’s side next month.

Finishing fourth would be an extraordinary achievement for Spurs and if they get there, they have just one man to thank – Harry Kane.

Kane had a slow start to the season after his transfer saga last summer. It was clear to see that missing out on a move affected him, but he has bounced back brilliantly.

Merson believes that Kane has been one of the best players in the world this year. He also claims that there’s no footballer in the world that he knows who can play like the Tottenham star.

He wrote in his column on Sportskeeda: “Harry Kane has been one of the best players in world football this calendar year – the bloke is a different class.

“He’s an all-round package, I don’t know anyone else who can play like him.”

If Harry Kane steps up and performs at his highest level, Tottenham are extremely unlikely to lose a football game.

Even Manchester City, the defending Premier League champions, couldn’t beat Spurs when Kane decided to make the game his. That’s how good he is, and without him, Antonio Conte’s side would be nowhere near where they are now.

Merson’s right, very few people can do what Kane does. The Englishman can score, assist, create chances and even help in the build-up by dropping to a position as deep as defensive midfield.

Kane is absolutely magnificent and it’s getting to that stage of the year where transfer rumours will cause a few Spurs fans to panic once every few days.
