Tottenham will reportedly have scouts watching Kim Min-jae this weekend

Tottenham are among the clubs who will be watching Fenerbahce defender Kim Min-jae during their huge derby clash this weekend.

Fanatik claim that Spurs will join Serie A duo Napoli and Lazio in watching the 25-year-old in action against Galatasaray.

Antonio Conte apparently wants central defensive reinforcements ahead of next season, looking to upgrade on Ben Davies on the left of his back three.

Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him during his time in charge of Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc told Gazete Vatan.

“Jose Mourinho wanted Kim Min Jae a year ago. They did not pay the 14 million euros (around £12 million),” he said.

And countryman Son Heung-min has personally recommended the defender to Spurs, as per 90Min, and wants Daniel Levy to sign him.

Kim has also been likened to Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk, which reflects well on the Tottenham target given that the Reds man is probably the best central defender in the world.

Fotospor believe Fenerbahçe want €20m (£17m) for their No.3, so the price has gone up slightly from when Mourinho was apparently keen.

That is still an affordable price for Spurs if they really want him and he will be hoping to impress in the red-hot atmosphere of the derby en route to a win.
