South Korean star Jin-Su Kim has provided an injury update on Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son after talking to him this morning.
Son was forced off in Spurs’ clash against Marseille after taking a heavy blow to the face while challenging Chancel Mbemba for a header.
The club have since confirmed that Son will require surgery after suffering a fracture around his left eye.
“We can confirm that Heung-Min Son will undergo surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye.
“The South Korea international suffered the injury during the first half of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League victory at Olympique Marseille.
“Following surgery, Son will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff and we shall update supporters further in due course.”
Now, his national teammate Kim has shared what Son told him about the injury this morning.

Latest injury update on Son
“I contacted Heung-min yesterday and this morning,” Kim told the Chosun Ilbo.
“I said it would work out, and Heung-Min said it would work out, so I told him to think positively.
“I know how big an injury is. The only thing Heung-Min could offer was comfort.
“Heung-min is such a responsible friend and he is a player who represents Korea, so I won’t give up easily and I don’t think Heung-Min won’t be able to play.”

It’s a huge blow for Spurs that Son now looks set to miss their clash with Liverpool this weekend.
No timeframe has been given for his recovery but Alasdair Gold suggested that the 30-year-old may be able to play with a mask on to protect his injury.
The Daily Mail also reports that Son could even return to action before the World Cup gets underway.
Son will be hopeful that his recovery goes smoothly with South Korea’s opening game in Qatar just three weeks away.
The Spurs star is a key player for South Korea and captain of his national side. Son would be devastated if he misses the World Cup and it would be cruel for him to miss out through injury.
