Arsenal travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United today and the Gunners’ two young stars – Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe – could break a very unique Premier League record.
The two young Englishmen have been Arsenal’s best players since last season. Saka was incredible last term, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions. Smith Rowe, who only came into the side in December, was brilliant too, scoring four goals and assisting a further seven times.
The two Hale End sensations have carried their form to this season as well. Smith Rowe has been directly involved in nine goals already, while Saka has seven goal contributions to his name.
Both players are having a fantastic season and they can soon make their way into the history books.
How Saka and Smith Rowe can break Rooney and Ronaldo’s PL record
It’s not very often that a Premier League club boasts of two incredible players under the age of 22 performing at the highest level together. Saka and Smith Rowe are two of them now, but the best duo in the league’s history is arguably Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United back in the day.
Rooney and Ronaldo, before one of them turned 22, assisted each other on eight occasions. That’s a Premier League record at the moment, but Saka and Smith Rowe are very likely to break that soon.
The Arsenal boys have combined together for six goals in the Premier League so far. They’re just two short of the Manchester United legends and need three to become the undisputed holders of that unique record. (Football London)
Smith Rowe doesn’t turn 22 until July next year, which means they have 21 games to displace Ronaldo and Rooney in the history books.

Can the Arsenal duo break the record today?
Arsenal take on a Leeds United side who are struggling. Marcelo Bielsa’s men don’t look anything like the team that amazed everyone last season. They’ve won just three games all campaign and the Gunners should fancy themselves.
Saka and Smith Rowe are both in tremendous form and the way Leeds play will suit their style. Both players will have a lot of space to exploit and if they get it right today, they could well combine for a couple of goals, if not more.
However, these are the types of games where Arsenal usually slip up. They lost against an Everton side who hadn’t won in weeks recently and it won’t be a surprise at all to see them underperform at Elland Road this evening.
It is unlikely that Saka and Smith Rowe will break the record today. But, football is a funny game and anything is possible.
