‘Hope this is true’: Arsenal fans open to selling Aubameyang, amid reports

Arsenal might have got off to the worst possible start against Brentford this weekend, but it wasn’t the most surprising thing to happen to the Gunners in the last 24 hours.

Prior to the game and as reported on TBR, The Times claimed that Arsenal could actually be open to selling their captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon striker has looked a shadow of his former self ever since signing a mega-money new contract last summer. He scraped double figures last term, and looked some way off being the striker who had won the Golden Boot previously.

To add further intrigue to the situation, Aubameyang was then left out of the squad to face Brentford. Mikel Arteta claimed his striker was ill, but there was a sense of something else underlying.

Arsenal fans, then, have been discussing the potential Aubameyang exit rumours on social media. Twitter was awash with comments on the matter and quite surprisingly, there were plenty of Gunners open to him leaving.
