'Hope he stays': Some fans worry about 17-year-old prospect’s future after possible hint, amid Leeds links
Celtic prospect Leo Hjelde has been linked with Premier League club Leeds United this summer – and some Hoops fans on Twitter are worried about his future after some suspicious Instagram activity.
The 17-year-old is a highly-rated defender from the Celtic academy ranks.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post last month, Leeds are eyeing a potential move for the teenager during this window.
That makes the Norwegian’s social media activity extremely interesting.
He may have dropped a possible hint by following Leeds on his official Instagram account.
Can Leeds add to their own glowing academy with Leo Hjelde?
Leeds have been busy already this summer strengthening their Under-23s side, who were promoted last season to the Premier League 2 top division in style.
Hjelde is someone who’s understandably on their radar when you consider his potential.
The centre-back has already played senior football in the Scottish Premiership. He was loaned out to Ross County in the second half of last season, making 12 first-team appearances for them.
A selection of Celtic supporters on social media are certainly concerned about losing Hjelde, amid interest from Leeds.
The fact he follows the Yorkshire club only adds fuel to the fire.
Here are some fans of the Scottish giants stressing they would love to keep their upcoming talent in Glasgow:
